President Greeting
Korean Association of Life Science (KALS) has made great contributions to life science, since it was established in 1991. Now, our association is comprised of about 800 members, as students, professors or researchers, who play an active part at universities, research centers or industries in the field of life science. Thanks to former executive branches and other members' hard work, the Journal of Life Science (JLS) has advanced remarkably, publishing 12 times a year. Since its register in the Korean Science Citation Index (KSCI) in 2004, approximately 25 articles are published in JLS every publication.
Our new executive branch will always endeavor to make KALS reach the global level as well as to promote friendship among the members for 2 years from 1st of January in 2010. Most of all, we will foster our editorial board so that more superior research papers in the JLS can be reported in the SCI as a registered journal. In addition, we are going to organize a preparatory committee for the 20th anniversary of the founding. And the anniversary committee will also be in charge of holding an international symposium to celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2011. Lastly, we will stimulate branches and subcommittees of KALS to cultivate friendly relationships amongst the members.
We will do the utmost for KALS to become an international association. We always appreciate your help and advice.
